Iran is reviewing the details of several diplomatic efforts aimed at managing tensions with the United States and hopes the process will yield results in the coming days, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday.
Speaking amid a U.S. naval military buildup near Iran, Baghaei said Tehran is examining different diplomatic mechanisms and frameworks to reduce tensions with Washington.
U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters last week that Iran was “seriously talking” with the United States, just hours after Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, said on X that preparations for negotiations were underway.
Baghaei said regional countries are acting as intermediaries in the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington.
“Various points have been exchanged, and we are currently deciding on and reviewing the details of each diplomatic process, which we hope will produce results in the coming days,” he said, adding that discussions are focused on the process and framework of potential talks.
