Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) held its monthly crime review meeting for the month of March at the CMP headquarters in Dampara on Wednesday. CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the meeting. Shawkat Ali. In the meeting, the commissioner directed all police stations and the Metropolitan Detective Branch to perform their duties with utmost professionalism to maintain the overall law and order situation in the city. He directed all the deputy commissioners concerned to be more active in preventing drugs, theft, robbery, extortion, juvenile gang activities and other crimes in their jurisdiction. Besides, strict instructions were given to the concerned to ensure effective police services to the people through speedy disposal of other cases and complaints, including murder cases. He also stressed on increasing the disposal rate of cases and increasing the speed of Warrant Tamil. He also directed the traffic department to take strict action against unfit and unauthorized vehicles and take necessary steps to restore discipline on the roads. In addition, the highest performing members were awarded in different categories in the month of March. The meeting was attended by Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) and Additional Charge (Administration and Finance) Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Muhammad Faisal Ahmed, Deputy Police Commissioner (Sadar) Md Shahidul Haque, among others.
