
Kamal Khan Abdullah Al Mamun has officially assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate of Sylhet. He joined the workplace at 9 am on Monday (July 13) and started regular official activities. As the new Deputy Commissioner assumed charge, the leaders of the organization led by Kamal Khan, Central Organizing Secretary of the Society of National Media Commission, paid a courtesy call and exchanged greetings with the DC. On Wednesday (July 15), a floral greeting, courtesy call and exchange of views was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner on behalf of the organization. Present during the exchange of floral greetings were the Deputy General Secretary of Sylhet Divisional Online Press Club, Sylhet Bureau Chief of Daily Dhaka Dak and Sylhet Correspondent of BBC News 24bd.com, journalist Emdadur Rahman Chowdhury Zia. The delegation from the Society of National Media Commission was led by Kamal Khan, Central Organizing Secretary of the organization. During this time, he spoke to the Deputy Commissioner about the issues of interest of the field level journalists working in Sylhet. All the members of the delegation congratulated the new Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet as his ancestral home is in Sunamganj, Sylhet and expressed their strong belief that the people of Sylhet will get something good from the Sylhet DC.
