Global investors remain strongly optimistic about markets, but are increasingly concerned that companies may be overinvesting<\/strong>, even as further asset gains become harder to achieve, according to Bank of America\u2019s monthly fund manager survey released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The survey of 162 fund managers<\/strong>, overseeing a combined $440 billion<\/strong>, showed cash holdings rose slightly to 3.4%<\/strong>, up from January\u2019s record-low 3.2%<\/strong>. Despite the rise, investor positioning remained heavily tilted toward risk assets.<\/p>\n

Fund managers stayed overweight equities and commodities<\/strong>, while remaining deeply underweight bonds<\/strong>, highlighting continued confidence in growth and market momentum.<\/p>\n

Macro optimism strengthened further, with expectations for a global economic \u201cboom\u201d rising to their highest level since February 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, forecasts for corporate earnings growth climbed above 10%<\/strong>, the strongest earnings outlook since 2021<\/strong>, reinforcing the upbeat tone in global markets.<\/p>\n

However, the survey also revealed growing unease about corporate spending.<\/p>\n

A record share of respondents said companies are investing too aggressively, and chief investment officers now said they would rather see firms focus on strengthening balance sheets<\/strong> instead of increasing capital expenditure.<\/p>\n

Despite bullish sentiment overall, investors again identified an artificial intelligence bubble<\/strong> as the biggest potential \u201ctail risk\u201d for markets.<\/p>\n

The findings suggest that while confidence remains high, investors are beginning to question whether corporate investment levels \u2014 particularly in high-growth sectors \u2014 are becoming excessive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
