In social media posts published in 2024 and 2025, Wilson claimed MacInnes felt \u201cuncomfortable\u201d after sharing a bath with a female producer, and later withdrew a harassment complaint in exchange for career opportunities. MacInnes denies ever making such a complaint.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"885\">MacInnes is suing for defamation, arguing that Wilson\u2019s statements damaged her reputation for honesty and integrity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"1068\">On the first day of proceedings, the court examined private messages and emails between Wilson, producer Amanda Ghost, and MacInnes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1273\">The alleged incident occurred on 5 September 2023 after MacInnes and Ghost went swimming at Bondi Beach. Ghost reportedly suffered an allergic reaction known as cold urticaria, causing severe discomfort.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1608\">The court heard that the pair later returned to Ghost\u2019s apartment, where MacInnes prepared a hot bath. Both women later entered the bath while wearing swimsuits. MacInnes\u2019 legal team described it as \u201coversized,\u201d and stated the two were not in physical contact. Ghost\u2019s assistant was also present in the bathroom for part of the time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1648\" data-end=\"1876\">MacInnes\u2019 lawyers told the court she never made a formal complaint about the incident to Wilson. However, Wilson allegedly later raised concerns with Ghost after speaking to MacInnes, claiming the actress had felt uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1878\" data-end=\"2049\">A text message shown in court from Wilson to Ghost read: \u201cCharlotte says all good. She just meant \u2018it was a bizarre situation\u2019 not that she personally felt uncomfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2189\">MacInnes\u2019 legal team argued that Wilson later used the incident as leverage in a broader dispute over the film\u2019s production and contracts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2191\" data-end=\"2359\">Sue Chrysanthou SC, representing MacInnes, told the court the allegations of misconduct and career manipulation were \u201ccompletely false, fantasy, malicious concoctions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2396\" data-end=\"2590\">Wilson\u2019s lawyer, David Sibtain, rejected the claims, arguing that MacInnes had denied making the complaint to protect her career prospects and maintain professional relationships with producers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2751\">He also told the court that MacInnes\u2019 career had since progressed, citing her lead role in a theatre production in the United States and recent music releases.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2753\" data-end=\"2914\">\u201cShe has suffered no harm to her reputation,\u201d Sibtain said, adding that MacInnes had aligned herself with the producers\u2019 version of events to advance her career.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2955\" data-end=\"3166\">The court also examined Wilson\u2019s Instagram post from September 2024, in which she suggested MacInnes\u2019 casting in major projects and a record deal demonstrated why she had allegedly changed her account of events.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3195\" data-end=\"3395\">MacInnes, who graduated from a Western Australian acting academy in 2021, plays a lead role in <em data-start=\"3290\" data-end=\"3299\">The Deb<\/em>, a musical comedy set in the Australian outback.
