Ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections, the Election Commission has imposed restrictions on presence in polling areas from Tuesday morning until the afternoon of the day after polling. The EC says that during this period , no one other than voters in a specific area or persons authorized by the Election Commission ( EC ) will be allowed to ‘be present’.
The EC issued a notification in this regard on Monday. It said that the EC has taken this decision with the aim of conducting the referendum and the 13th National Parliament elections in a free , impartial and peaceful manner, reports bdnews24.com.
According to the EC’s decision , no person other than those involved in the election process , those permitted by the Election Commission, and residents or voters of the relevant constituency will be allowed to remain in the relevant constituency from 48 hours before the start of voting to 24 hours after the end of voting, i.e. from 7:30 am on February 10 to 4:30 pm on February 13.
