At a prestigious event organized by the Journalists’ Development Council, Mohammad Robiul Hossain, Chairman of Sada Kalo Multimedia News Limited, delivered an emotional and insightful written address. In his speech, he emphasized the combined roles of remittance warriors and pen warriors, calling for united efforts in nation-building. The event was attended by the Council’s President, Chief Guest, Special Guests, editors and journalists from various media outlets, and distinguished figures from social and cultural fields.
At the outset, Mohammad Robiul Hossain greeted everyone warmly and stated that the event was not merely a ceremonial recognition; rather, it reflected journalists’ mutual solidarity, professional responsibility, and humanitarian bonds.
Identifying himself proudly as a “remittance warrior,” he highlighted the sacrifices and labor of millions of Bangladeshis abroad, which continue to strengthen the country’s economy. The remittances sent by expatriates bolster the nation’s foreign currency reserves, support development projects, and improve the livelihoods of countless families. He remarked, “Remittances are not just a flow of money—they are a reflection of love, sacrifice, and responsibility towards the country.”
He also drew attention to journalists’ crucial role in society, describing it as another important struggle—the battle of the pen. Uncovering truth, standing against injustice, exposing corruption and malpractice, and becoming the voice of the people require immense courage. Despite facing pressure, threats, and risks, journalists continue to perform their duties, earning the nation’s pride. He said, “While remittance warriors strengthen the country’s economy, pen warriors awaken its conscience. The nation advances through the combined efforts of these two forces.”
Highlighting the work of his own media organization, Robiul Hossain noted that under Sada Kalo Multimedia News Limited, four government-approved newspapers—Chattal Chitra, The Tourist, Bhorer Awaaz, and Shomoyer Alo—are published regularly. Additionally, Kotha TV has already established a strong presence among viewers. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to technology-driven, data-based, and objective multimedia journalism. The aim, he said, is not merely to report news but to play an active role in building a positive, conscious, and humane society. He also stressed the importance of training young journalists, enhancing their skills, and upholding ethics, cautioning that journalism should never become a tool for personal gain.
He expressed deep gratitude to his inspiration, writer, journalist, and television presenter Kamal Uddin, and also thanked the Chattogram Citizens’ Forum, Green Alliance, Chattogram History Center, and other organizations for honoring him. Robiul Hossain pledged his full support for any just and positive initiatives of the Journalists’ Development Council, saying, “I will stand by journalists in happiness and sorrow, in crisis and struggle—Insha’Allah.”
On the eve of Ramadan, he extended advance greetings to all, noting that the holy month teaches self-purification, restraint, and humanity. He prayed that Almighty Allah grants everyone the steadfastness to remain on the path of truth.
Concluding his speech, he expressed solidarity with the persecuted and oppressed journalists of the country and prayed for the departed souls of late journalists, noting that their sacrifices and contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
Finally, he thanked the organizers and called for collective action in the interest of national welfare. His address received wide appreciation among the journalists present, sending a strong message of unity and responsibility within the journalistic community.
