A fire at a building near Glasgow Central Station in the United Kingdom has caused significant disruption to train services in the area.
Dozens of trains have been cancelled, and National Rail announced that the station would remain closed until further notice. Authorities warned that major delays and service interruptions are expected to continue throughout Monday.
According to reports from the BBC, the fire broke out at a vape shop located close to the station. The blaze reportedly caused part of the building to collapse, raising safety concerns around the busy transport hub.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they were first alerted to the incident at 3:46 p.m. (1546 GMT) on Sunday, March 8. The fire was reported on the ground floor of a four-storey commercial building.
Emergency teams responded quickly to the scene to bring the situation under control and ensure public safety.
Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, expressed concern about the incident and thanked emergency responders for their efforts.
“I am deeply concerned about the fire near Glasgow Central Station tonight and very grateful to all the emergency services who are responding,” he said.
