According to sources, the deportees landed in Kinshasa early Friday, with the flight touching down at approximately 1:00 a.m. (0000 GMT), as confirmed by flight tracking data.
The group consisted of migrants from Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. A Colombian woman among the deportees told Reuters that there were 16 individuals on board, including nine men and seven women. However, an airport official reported that 15 migrants had arrived, highlighting a slight discrepancy in the count.
The arrivals signal the start of a new phase in U.S. deportation policy involving third-country agreements, though details surrounding the terms and future implementation remain limited.
