Md. Kamal Uddin  People are often helpless in the face of nature. Floods, cyclones, tidal waves or any other disaster can disrupt people’s well-organized lives in an instant. But a greater force than disasters is human humanity. When one person stands by another in times of danger, a ray of hope is created, and the courage to live anew is born. Recently, millions of people have suffered extreme suffering in various parts of the country due to terrible floods. Numerous families have lost their homes, many are living in crisis of food, clean water and medical services. In such difficult times, the Chittagong Customs C&F Agents Association has set a shining example of humanity by standing by the flood-affected people. Under the leadership of the Association’s Honorable President S. M. Saiful Alam and General Secretary Md. Shawkat Ali, the organization has donated to the relief fund to help the flood-affected people. This donation was handed over to the Chief Advisor and Acting Chairman of BNP Tarique Rahman, so that it can be used for the welfare of the affected people. This initiative is not just a donation; it is a unique expression of humanitarian responsibility. Because the responsibility of influential individuals, business organizations and various institutions in the society is not only to protect their own interests, but it is also their moral duty to stand by the people in national crises. Chittagong Customs C&F Agents Association has shown that sense of responsibility with great sincerity. President S. M. Saiful Alam has been leading the organization for a long time and has been emphasizing unity, social responsibility and human values among the members. On the other hand, General Secretary Md. Shawkat Ali is taking the organization forward through his efficiency, honesty and humanistic thinking. Under their joint leadership, the association has strengthened its position not only as a professional organization, but also as a social and humanitarian organization. We believe that this culture of standing by the people in disasters needs to be further expanded. If the country’s big business organizations, social organizations, professional organizations, industrialists, wealthy individuals and people from all classes and professions of society come forward according to their capabilities, then no disaster can break us.
Those who stood by the flood victims today did not just provide some financial assistance; they instilled hope in the hearts of thousands of people. They proved that humanity is still alive, compassion is still the greatest strength of our society. This great initiative of the Chittagong Customs C&F Agents Association undoubtedly deserves praise. I extend my sincere congratulations and gratitude to President S. M. Saiful Alam, General Secretary Md. Shawkat Ali and all the members of the organization. We believe that their humanitarian step will inspire others as well.
Let us all stand by the helpless people from our respective positions. Let us try to bring a smile to the faces of people affected by disasters. Because there is no greater identity than humanity, no greater worship than standing by the people. May the whole of Bangladesh come forward with this spirit of people for people, life for life. May humanity triumph, may compassion triumph.
