Dhaka: The monthly welfare meeting of the Tourist Police was held at the conference room of the Tourist Police Headquarters, Dhaka. The meeting discussed various important issues including the activities of various units of the Tourist Police, welfare of members, enhancement of professional skills, improvement of service quality and ensuring safety of tourists. The meeting was presided over by the Tourist Police Chief Md. Mainul Hasan, BPM, PPM, ndc, Additional IGP (acting). In his speech, he called upon all the members of the Tourist Police to perform their duties with more sincerity and professionalism to strengthen the security of the country’s tourism sector and ensure a safe and tourism-friendly environment for tourists.
The meeting was attended by DIG of Tourist Police Headquarters Md. Manjur Morshed Alam, DIG Md. Shafiqul Islam, Additional DIG of Tourist Police Chittagong Division Bidhan Tripura, PPM (Bar), Additional DIG of Rajshahi-Rangpur Division Sultana Nazma Hossain, Additional DIG Md. Moniruzzaman and Additional DIG of Khulna-Barisal Division Dr. Md. Emdadul Haque, PPM. Senior officials of Tourist Police Headquarters also participated in the meeting.
In the welfare meeting, the police superintendents and zone in-charges of all the regions of the tourist police joined virtually and highlighted the activities, problems, possibilities and various development issues of their respective areas. Ensuring the welfare of the members in charge at the field level, enhancing their skills through modern training, quick resolution of tourist complaints and expansion of technology-based services were also discussed.
The meeting emphasized on further strengthening security measures in tourist areas, taking effective initiatives to provide information and assistance to tourists, ensuring friendly behavior towards foreign tourists and further strengthening the role of the tourist police in portraying a positive image of the country. The chief of the tourist police told the concerned officials that utmost importance should be given to improving the safety and quality of services for tourists. At the same time, he directed them to take necessary steps to ensure the welfare of the members of the force, improve the working environment and maintain professionalism in performing their duties. At the end of the meeting, the determination was expressed to make the overall activities of the tourist police more dynamic, people-friendly and service-oriented, as well as to make an effective contribution to the development of the country’s tourism industry.
