Own Correspondent  Two domestically made LGs were recovered and three people were arrested during a regular police checkpost operation in Chunati area of ​​Lohagara upazila of Chittagong. Two mobile phones used for arms trading were also seized during the operation. According to police sources, on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police of Chittagong district and under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lohagara Police Station Mohammad Abdullah, SI (Unarmed) Main Uddin and his team were conducting a regular checkpost in front of the Chunati Range Forest Officer’s office on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway on July 14. At that time, when a signal was given to stop a private car heading from Cox’s Bazar to Chittagong, the driver tried to flee without obeying the police’s instructions. Later, the police chased the car and stopped it near the Chunati Government Women’s College gate. At one stage of the search, two domestically made LGs were recovered from a shopping bag hidden under the rear seat of the car. At the same time, two mobile phones used for arms trading were seized. In this incident, Hossain Ahmed (42), Mohammad Ayatullah (27) and Md. Asaduzzaman have been arrested. After filing a case under the Arms Act against the arrested, they have been sent to court after completing the legal process. Chittagong District Police said that regular operations will continue to recover illegal weapons, suppress terrorist activities and ensure public safety.
