Donald Trump recently outlined the possibility of military action against Iran in his State of the Union address, while emphasizing his preference for a diplomatic resolution. He stated that Tehran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.
The British Foreign Office announced that assistance for British nationals in Iran would be severely limited under the remote operation model. It also confirmed that no in-person consular services, including emergency support, would be available.
Officials have not specified how long the embassy closure will last, but stressed that the move was a precautionary measure in response to regional security developments.
