In the serene atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan, Love Bangladesh organized an Iftar gathering and discussion session in Chattogram, spreading messages of social justice, integrity, and humanitarian values. The event brought together distinguished figures from various sectors of society, with the central chairman of the organization and veteran journalist Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury becoming the main highlight, delivering a strong message against injustice, corruption, and nepotism.
The Iftar gathering was held on Saturday at 4:00 pm at Kutumbari Restaurant in Chawk Bazar, organized by the Chattogram city branch of Love Bangladesh. The event was chaired by the city president of the organization, Abdullah Majumdar.
The chief guest, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, spoke passionately about the organization’s mission. Special guest Md. Kamal Uddin also attended, along with Advocate M N Mostafa Noor, journalists Osman Jahangir and Monir Chowdhury, historian Sohel Mohammad Fakhruddin, Advocate Mohammad Nurul Alam, and representatives from various social and professional organizations. The program was hosted by Shaha Jalal, with Quranic recitation by Love Bangladesh’s divisional president Maulana Noor Mohammad, followed by a special supplication led by Maulana Abrah Hossain for the nation’s welfare.
In his speech, Chowdhury emphasized that Love Bangladesh is not just an organization but a moral movement, aiming to establish truth, justice, and humanitarian values in society.
He said,
“Our stance against corruption, nepotism, and irregularities is always clear. In the past, we have spoken against injustice, and we will continue to do so in the future. We do not bow to any power—we move forward with the strength of truth.”
He further stated that national development goes beyond infrastructure; true progress is achieved when justice and integrity are upheld at every level of the state and society. Chowdhury urged conscious citizens to step forward, emphasizing that when journalists, intellectuals, teachers, lawyers, and the youth work together, a strong societal resistance against corruption and injustice can be built.
As a special guest, journalist, author, and researcher Md. Kamal Uddin highlighted that Ramadan teaches self-purification and inspires people to remain steadfast in truth and justice. He said,
“The primary duty of journalism is to reveal the truth in society. A journalist’s pen must never bow to injustice.”
He praised Love Bangladesh for taking such initiatives, calling them vital for establishing social justice.
Historian Sohel Mohammad Fakhruddin noted that history shows whenever injustice rises, courageous individuals have stood for truth to initiate change. He remarked,
“Love Bangladesh’s initiative sends a positive message to society. Such social movements will serve as a beacon for future generations.”
Journalist Osman Jahangir emphasized that media’s role goes beyond reporting—it is also about participating in the struggle for justice and truth. He stated that collaborative efforts between journalists and social organizations can bring significant positive change in society.
Advocate M N Mostafa Noor highlighted that the foundation of a civilized state is the rule of law, and fair application of laws reduces corruption and irregularities. Advocate Mohammad Nurul Alam emphasized that lawyers, journalists, and civil society must work together to uphold justice.
Journalist Monir Chowdhury underscored that positive social change requires honest leadership and courageous initiatives, praising Love Bangladesh’s efforts as a significant social endeavor.
The program concluded with special prayers for the nation’s peace, prosperity, and establishment of a just society, followed by a collective Iftar. The event went beyond a mere Iftar gathering, becoming an inspiring assembly united by the determination to build a truthful, just, and corruption-free society, with Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury at its heart, delivering an unwavering message of justice and integrity.
