Chattogram, April 7: Reaffirming a কঠোর stance against crime, Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali has declared a “zero tolerance” policy against extortion, drug trafficking, gambling, juvenile gangs, and mob violence in the নগরী.
Speaking at a মতবিনিময় সভা held মঙ্গলবার বিকেলে at the CMP সদর দপ্তর in দামপাড়া, the Commissioner stressed that criminal networks will not be allowed to operate anywhere in the city. The meeting was attended by leaders of the newly elected committee of the Chattogram Press Club along with senior journalists.
“Chattogram is one of the country’s most important economic hubs. Maintaining law and order here is not just the দায়িত্ব of law enforcement agencies, but a collective effort,” he said. “We are committed to building a safe, peaceful, and livable city where citizens can live without fear.”
Highlighting the threats posed by crimes such as extortion, drug trade, gambling, and juvenile gangs, the Commissioner warned that CMP would not compromise under any circumstances. “Every allegation will be taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and those responsible will be brought to justice,” he added.

During the meeting, Press Club President Salahuddin Md.
