Endorsed by the People: Congratulations to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman

—Md. Kamal Uddin

A new chapter in Bangladesh’s political history has begun—Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has been elected as the country’s Prime Minister. This victory is not merely for a political party; it is the realization of a long-held aspiration, a continuation of ideological commitment, and a reaffirmation of the people’s trust.

At this historic moment of his inauguration, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes.

The journey of BNP through Bangladesh’s political landscape has been shaped by countless struggles, sacrifices, and the brilliance of its legacy. The ideals upon which the party was founded by the late President Ziaur Rahman—commitment to independence, sovereignty, and democracy—remain at the core of the party’s ethos. Later, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia played a pivotal role in democratic movements and the protection of citizens’ rights, strengthening the party with lessons of resilience and perseverance.

Carrying this legacy forward, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has now assumed the grave responsibility of governing the nation. Throughout his political life, he has demonstrated foresight, determination, and unwavering adherence to principle—qualities that have paved the way for today’s triumph.

In his first statement as Prime Minister, he declared: “Nation first, party second; responsibility outweighs power.” He made it clear that there will be no place in politics for crime, extortion, or terrorism. This firm stance reflects not only administrative resolve but moral courage as well.

Today, Bangladesh stands at the threshold of renewed expectations. Economic development, job creation, educational advancement, justice, and the nation’s dignified presence on the international stage—these are the challenges that lie ahead. History teaches us that true leadership emerges most clearly in times of crisis.

Tarique Rahman’s political vision—revitalizing democracy, promoting administrative transparency, and engaging the youth—could provide crucial guidance for building Bangladesh’s future. His call for a “purification campaign” is expected to strengthen good governance not just within party structures but across the state administration—a hope shared by citizens across all levels of society.

This victory is therefore more than political success; it is a rebirth of trust. The people wish to see, under his leadership, a Bangladesh that is well-governed, justice-oriented, and self-respecting.

Our appeal to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman:
May he honor both the party’s legacy and the aspirations of the people, playing a leading role in building an inclusive, tolerant, and progressive nation.

On this historic day, we once again extend our heartfelt congratulations.
May Bangladesh move forward under his leadership toward a new horizon of development, democracy, and justice.
