Alhamdulillah. An important meeting was held yesterday to establish a private university of international standard in Chittagong with the aim of developing knowledge-based, skilled and ethical human resources. In this meeting, held with the dream and commitment to upgrade the country’s higher education to a world-class level, eminent educationists, researchers, social workers, professionals and education enthusiasts discussed in detail the overall plan, goals, future work plan and implementation strategy for establishing the university. An entrepreneurial (organizing) committee was unanimously formed in the meeting to conduct the initial activities of establishing the university. In the formed committee, eminent educationist Dr. Mohammad Sanaullah has been appointed as the convener and I have been given the responsibility of member secretary. The main goal of this university will be to establish an educational institution with a combination of international standard education, modern curriculum, research and innovation, information technology-based education system, moral values, skilled leadership and work-oriented education, which will enable students to compete globally as well as meet domestic needs. We firmly believe that if this initiative is implemented, Chittagong will not only get a new university; rather, a modern knowledge center will be born, which will be established as a prestigious education and research platform for students, researchers and teachers from home and abroad. At the same time, it will play an important role in higher education, research, innovation, employment creation and national development. For the successful implementation of this great initiative, we seek the sincere cooperation, valuable opinions and prayers of education enthusiasts, well-wishers, expatriate Bangladeshis, entrepreneurs and all concerned from all walks of life.
InshaAllah, through joint efforts, honesty, transparency and visionary leadership, a dream university of international standards will be established in Chittagong, opening a new horizon of knowledge, research and human values for the coming generation. “Today’s initiative is the foundation stone of a world-class educational institution of the future.”
