Body of polytechnic student recovered in Boalkhali, police have sent it for autopsy

Staff Correspondent  Police have recovered the body of a polytechnic student named Amit Sengupta (22) from his room in Shakpura Union of Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong. The incident took place at around 9 am on Monday (July 27) in a house in Paschim Shakpura village of ward number 4 of Shakpura Union of the upazila. The deceased Amit Sengupta is the son of Joydev Sengupta, a resident of Anil Sen house in Paschim Shakpura area. He was a student of a private polytechnic institute. According to police and local sources, on Monday morning, when Amit did not respond, his family members went to his room and found him hanging from a ceiling fan. Later, the matter was reported to Boalkhali Police Station, where the police reached the spot and recovered the body. On receiving the information, the police inspected the spot and completed the necessary legal procedures and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent to the morgue of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the matter and said that the body of a young man has been recovered from the scene. The body has been sent for autopsy to confirm the actual cause of death. A case of accidental death has been filed at the police station in this incident. Police said that the cause of death can be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report. Legal investigation into the incident is ongoing.
