Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has called for steps to be taken to stop the use of fake certificates and forgery of skill development training certificates so that Bangladesh’s reputation in the international labor market remains intact . He gave the directive in his address to the National Skill Development Authority ( NSDA ) Governing Body meeting held at the Chief Advisor’s office in Tejgaon on Sunday, a press release said. bdnews24.com reported.
The Office of the Chief Advisor said that this was the second meeting of the NSDA Governing Body, established in 2018. The first meeting was held earlier in 2022. At the meeting, the Chief Advisor said that NSDA is a good framework to develop skilled human resources based on the needs of the national and international labor markets. Its importance will increase with the increase in the demand for Bangladeshi labor in the international market. Muhammad Yunus said that there is a lot of demand for Bangladeshi labor in the global market. But the reputation of workers is being tarnished due to skill training certificate fraud and deception. If employers lose trust , then skill development initiatives will fail.
Emphasizing on building the country’s brand image , he said that employers should say that the workers who have come from Bangladesh will definitely do well. Muhammad Yunus expressed hope that the initiative taken by NSD to introduce a uniform quality certification system in all types of training institutions will play an important role in combating certificate fraud .
Referring to the creativity and potential of the young generation , he said that it is the government’s responsibility to open the doors of possibilities for them. In this regard, the Chief Advisor emphasized the necessary initiatives and coordination so that private entrepreneurs can work more transparently and effectively .
