Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Free medical services and essential medicines have been distributed among more than five hundred flood-affected people in Amilash Union of Satkania Upazila of Chittagong. This free medical camp and medicine distribution program was organized by the National Environment and Human Rights Foundation Chittagong District Committee on Friday, July 24, at the premises of Paschim Dolu Government Primary School throughout the day. The organization’s founding chairman Alhaj Md. Abdul Aziz was present as the chief guest at the program. The Secretary General of the Central Committee Abdul Mannan, Finance Secretary Jamal Uddin were present as special guests. The convener of the free medical camp implementation committee, Inam Elahi Chowdhury, also addressed the program, and the President of the Chittagong District Committee, Lion Mohammad Faruk Ahmed, also spoke at the program. The speakers highlighted the importance of such humanitarian initiatives in preventing the outbreak of water-borne diseases in the post-flood period and protecting the health of the affected people. Among others present at the day-long medical camp were Vice President of the organization’s Chittagong District Committee Professor Delwar Hossain, General Secretary Mominul Haque Khokon, Organizing Secretary Mohammad Nur Uddin and Lion Md. Jahangir Alam. Also present were Social Welfare Secretary Haji Main Uddin, Publicity and Publication Secretary Ibrahim Bachchu, Assistant Office Secretary Soyabul Alam Nirab, Women’s Affairs Secretary Priyanka Dutta, Khaleda Akhter Bithi, members Wahidur Rahman, Shamima Akhter Chumki, Marufa Akhter and Mostafa Kamal. In this day-long camp, seven experienced specialist doctors examined the patients and distributed necessary medicines free of cost.
