A member of a gang involved in buying and selling stolen mobile phones, including 3 stolen iPhones, has been arrested in a special operation by the Chawkbazar Police Station of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP). The operation was conducted at around 5 pm on Friday (July 10, 2026) in the Gulzar More area of Chawkbazar Police Station. SI (retd) Gias Uddin, ASI (retd) Humayun Kabir, ASI Md. Hanif Hossain and the accompanying force led by Chawkbazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Noor Hossain Mamun participated in the operation. During the operation, Md. Rohit Uddin (22), who was habitually involved in buying and selling stolen mobile phones, was arrested. During this time, 3 stolen iPhones were recovered from him. Police said that during the initial interrogation, information was found against the accused that he was involved in buying and selling stolen mobile phones. The process of identifying the real owner of the recovered mobile phones is ongoing. The arrested accused has been handed over to the learned court after completing the necessary legal process. Police operations are continuing to identify and arrest other members of the stolen mobile phone trafficking ring.
