Israeli Fire Kills Four in Gaza and West Bank, Medics Say

At least four Palestinians have been killed in separate incidents involving Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to local health officials.

In Gaza, an Israeli airstrike on Monday killed at least three people and injured two others, medics said. The strike reportedly targeted a group of فلسطinians near the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

The latest incident comes more than five months after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire was put in place, but violence has continued intermittently. Health authorities in Gaza say that more than 72,000 people have been killed since the war began in October 2023.

Tensions have remained high as Israel continues military operations on multiple fronts, including its ongoing conflict involving Iran and operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

Despite the ceasefire, officials in Gaza report that at least 50 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the Iran-related conflict escalated about a month ago.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, a 22-year-old Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces near the city of Hebron, according to Palestinian health officials. The body was reportedly taken away by Israeli soldiers.

Palestinian sources identified the man as Ramzi Awawada and accused Israeli forces of preventing medical teams from reaching him in time, alleging he was left to bleed to death.

The Israeli military, however, said its قوات shot a فلسطيني who was approaching them while holding a knife.

Rights groups and medics have also raised concerns over increasing violence by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. They say movement restrictions imposed during the ongoing conflict have made it harder for ambulances to reach victims.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least five Palestinians have been killed by settlers in the West Bank since the escalation of tensions on February 28.
